A small team, with partners who act in person
Consiliar is an advisory company based in Budapest. We do two things: we provide managing directors for foreign-owned companies in Hungary, and we support Hungarian companies entering new markets – above all China, and also Korea and East Africa.

Consiliar is an independent advisory company with its registered seat in Budapest. We are not a placement agency for managers and we do not sell template solutions: every engagement is carried out by a specific partner or team member, identified to you, who does the work personally.
On this page we present the people you will work with by their roles. You meet them in person at the first conversation or while the proposal is being prepared.
The people you will work with
Managing director partner
Our current managing director partner led a substantial Korean-owned construction company in Hungary for several years, with direct responsibility for the company’s operations, for working with the owner and the parent company, and for its dealings with Hungarian authorities and business partners. This partner’s work is recognised within the Korean business community in Hungary. The experience is of particular value to owners looking for a manager who is at home in both Korean and Hungarian business culture.
China team member
Our team member has worked with the Chinese market for two decades, lived and worked in China for four years, and negotiates in Chinese. This experience covers Chinese investors establishing themselves in Hungary, Hungarian companies’ sales and sourcing in China, and the vetting of Chinese partners.
East Africa team member
Our market entry work is supported by a member of our team with institutional and business experience in East Africa. The role is one of orientation: which institution is competent for what, which steps a procedure consists of, and how much time to allow.
Local legal partners in Africa
We work with local legal partners in several African countries. Local legal matters are handled by their lawyers, under a separate engagement.
How do we work?
Managing director engagements are carried out by our contracted partners, who act in person. For the duration of the engagement, the partner is the client company’s managing director or co-managing director, registered in the company register; Consiliar’s role is to select the partner, prepare the engagement, and provide the professional support and the reporting arrangements.
We work on a small number of engagements at any one time. A managing director can responsibly stand behind only as many companies as he or she truly knows, so we assess the company before every engagement and, if the conditions are not met, we decline.
We do not provide accounting, tax advice, registered office services or legal services. In these areas we work with the client’s own duly authorised service providers.
Legal background
Consiliar does not provide legal services. Legal matters are handled by Czudar DHH Law Firm, an independent law firm, under a separate engagement.
Our principles
Actual management
Our partner acts in person, has full sight of the company’s operations and takes part in decisions. We do not provide nominee directors who exist on paper only.
Transparent fees
We fix the fee and the corresponding scope of duties in writing in advance. Our fee is tied to the work performed.
Legal work and business management work kept separate
We do the business management work; the legal work is done by a lawyer. They are two separate engagements, with separate contracts and separate invoices.
